Arabic Language and Culture Correlate Sequence

Students undertaking the correlate sequence must complete 6 units. All students must complete:

• AFRS 107 Elementary Arabic  
• AFRS 207 Intermediate Arabic    
• AFRS 208 Intermediate Arabic  
• AFRS 307 Upper-Intermediate Arabic  
• Either AFRS 308 Upper-Intermediate Arabic  or AFRS 313 Culture and Society in the Middle East and North Africa .
• Either AFRS 205 Arab Women Writers   or AFRS 225 Prison Literature and Political Dissidence in the MENA Region .

Only one credit from accredited study-abroad programs or Intensive Arabic language courses may be counted instead of any of the above courses to fulfill the Correlate requirements, with prior approval from the Correlate adviser.
