Electives
Students may take one or two Astronomy electives. They can be at any level, and can include independent work (intensives).
Students can take up to one elective that is not an Astronomy course, so long as they consult with their advisor and it is deemed to be relevant to the Astronomy major.
Students who are Astronomy/Physics double majors cannot count a Physics course twice; they must take an additional Physics course.
Intensives
One of multiple options: observatory research, thesis, independent work.
Astronomy/Physics double majors: 1.5 intensive units are required, with 0.5 Physics, 1.0 Astronomy or 1.0 Physics, 0.5 Astronomy, upon discussion with adviser.
