Upon declaring a concentration in Urban Studies, students are expected to develop a thematic focus with their advisers. This thematic focus guides a selection of courses drawn largely from the URBS curriculum but also from other departments, programs and study abroad. Up to two elective 200-level courses and one 300-level course from the URBS curriculum can be substituted with courses from other programs, departments or study abroad, contingent on the approval of the director/steering committee.
Students may also substitute up to two elective 300-level units for the equivalent number of elective 200-level units from the URBS curriculum.
