WFQS 130 - Introduction to Women, Feminist, and Queer Studies Semester Offered: Fall and Spring 1 unit(s) In this introductory survey, students explore gender and sexuality through multiple axes of power, including race, class, ethnicity, disability, and more. Employing a variety of feminist analytics including transnational and decolonial feminism, Black feminism, indigenous feminism, queer studies, and transgender epistemologies, this course interrogates the interconnectedness of global forces and local realities. Together, we study the way that gender and sexuality help organize the world, but also constitute and offer a methodological prism through which to transform it. Kristin Sánchez Carter, Tracey Holland.
Two 75-minute periods.
