GEOG 304 - Senior Seminar: Issues in Geographic Theory and Method

This seminar examines how conceptions and theories of geography reflect broader social developments and the dominant intellectual currents of their time. The works and ideas of major theorists are analyzed in relation to the shifting philosophies and paradigms that have shaped the discipline. The course also guides students in formulating research questions and developing methods to support their thesis proposals. Students are encouraged to engage critically with diverse theoretical frameworks and to identify approaches that best align with their own research interests. The seminar culminates in the development and presentation of student research proposals. Yu Zhou.
