Topic for 2025/26b: Queer Stories in Italian Media. In this course we look at different representations of queer Italian life from the postwar era up to the present day. As we study these narratives we also engage with theoretical questions about challenging archives and defying cultural norms, as well as considering the specificity of queerness in the Italian context. Among the texts we study are: Nuovo Olimpo (2023, film), Prisma (2022, television series), Corazones de mujer (2008, film), Benzina (1998, novel), Morte segreta (1976, poems), Dalla parte di lei (1949, novel), and more. Sole Anatrone.
