PHIL 281 - ConfuciusSemester Offered: Fall 0.5 unit(s) This first-six-week course is an introduction to the sayings and dialogues of Confucius and his immediate disciples as recorded in the Analects. We shall examine the historical context of Confucius, and his views on the virtues, human nature, ethical cultivation and his Way for living and organizing society. Requirements include faithful attendance and weekly response essays. Mr. Van Norden.
