ENGL 267 - CripLit: Telling Disability Stories Semester Offered: Spring 0.5 unit(s) This intensive gives you tools to tell your disability story and a community with which to share it. All students with a personal experience of disability, whether their own or that of a relative, friend, or ally, are welcome. Although the term “CripLit” implies an emphasis on writing, our intensive also explores disability representation in other media, such as film, visual art, drama, music, and dance, with a focus on how different media provide different kinds of access to disabled experience. Course meetings include discussion of works chosen in collaboration with students, as well as writing or making workshops, with time to develop individual or collaborative projects. The focus is on centering student voices. We decide collectively where and how to document our work. Leslie Dunn.
Prerequisite(s): Permission of the instructor.
