HIST 319 - Military, War and Society 1 unit(s) The US military does not send itself to war. Choices about war and peace are made by civilians, and those decisions have shaped, and been shaped by, American society and culture. In this seminar, we consider the ways social and cultural processes have framed US military engagements in the 20th and 21st centuries and the ways wars and militarization have shaped modern American society and culture. Robert Brigham.
