FFS 210 - The Francophone World Through Text, Sound, and Image Semester Offered: Fall and Spring 1 unit(s) Introduction to the Francophone world and to basic modes of interpretation and analysis through the study and discussion of short texts (print or online magazine or newspaper articles, short stories, essays), films, and other visual or recorded media. The course includes a grammar workshop, vocabulary building, essay writing, image analysis, and “explication de texte.” The course includes review and expansion of complex linguistic structures, and serves as a preparation for upper 200-level courses. Enrollment limited by class. Placement test required.
Two 75-minute periods; 50 minutes of scheduled oral practice.
