PHIL 294 - Film and Philosophy: Ingmar Bergman Semester Offered: Spring 0.5 unit(s) This Intensive provides an introduction to the philosophy of film through the study of several films written and directed by the Swedish filmmaker, Ingmar Bergman (1918–2007). Along with studies of selected films, we read scholarship on the aesthetics of film, auteur theory, and the status of film as a medium for philosophy. Christopher Raymond.
Prerequisite(s): One course in Philosophy or Film, or permission of the instructor.
