RUSS 159 - Russian Fantasy Films (in English) Semester Offered: Fall 0.5 unit(s) The course examines various aspects of this diverse genre in Russia from its origins to our days, with a special emphasis on the interaction between inherent constants and the dynamics of shifting cultural and aesthetic contexts. Examples include cinematic versions of fairy tales from Russia and worldwide, adaptations of classical literature, warrior epics, art house allegories, horror movies, and vampire sagas.
