CHIN 282 - Chinese Culture Through Film: A Survey of Chinese-language cinema of the past 100 years

(Same as ASIA 282) In this class, we watch Chinese-language films with themes including history, politics, wealth inequality, patriotism, family, the environment, globalization, race, and sexuality. We read articles about these films to better understand how movies reflect and shape our world, as well as how culture influences our own view of them. All the films have English subtitles.
