Comparative survey of new trajectories emerging during the Cold War in West and East European film including France, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union. The course investigates formal and semantic connections between the cinema of the period with avant-garde movements in film and other visual arts of the 1920s.  Nikolai Firtich.
