ENGL 304 - Creative Writing Seminar Semester Offered: Spring 1 unit(s) Topic for 2023/24b: Learning Writing From What Is New and Bold. This course examines creative writing by engaging a variety of voices and forms. Required texts include novellas, a play, poetry, short-stories, reportage, memoir, but also writing that is explicitly mixed-genre and difficult to fit into conventional categories. In weekly writing exercises, students are expected to search for style—and for the breath of life. Ryan Chapman.
Prerequisite(s): Open to juniors and seniors who have taken ENGL 207 , ENGL 209 , or ENGL 211 .
In order to register for this class, students should complete an application prior to preregistration, using a form available in the English Department in lieu of writing samples. Notification of acceptance will be given before preregistration begins. Please do not contact the professor.
One 2-hour period and individual conferences with the instructor.
