EDUC 350 - The Teaching of Reading: Curriculum Development in Childhood Education Semester Offered: Fall 1 unit(s) The purpose of this course is to examine the nature and process of reading within a theoretical framework and then to examine and implement a variety of approaches and strategies used to promote literacy in language arts and social studies. Special emphasis is placed on material selection, instruction, and assessment to promote conceptual understandings for all students. Observation and participation in local schools is required. Prerequisite(s): PSYC 105 , PSYC 231 .
