ART 292 - Collecting Antiquities at Vassar: Lost and Found in the Loeb

(Same as GRST 292) This intensive is designed as a directed independent study conducted in the Loeb Antiquities storeroom for close study of ancient art and artifacts. The intensive aims to impart skills involved in identifying fakes and establishing authenticity, to consider the ethics and politics of collecting, and to explore the changing role of ancient art in the museum and its display in galleries.
