ECON 248 - International Trade and the World Financial System Semester Offered: Spring 1 unit(s) A policy-oriented introduction to basic models of trade adjustment, exchange rate determination and macroeconomics adjustment. These are applied to the principle issues and problems of the international economy. Topics include the changing pattern of trade, fixed and floating exchange rates, protectionism, foreign investment, the Euro-dollar market, the role of the WTO, the IMF and World Bank, the European Community and third-world debt. Prerequisite(s): ECON 102 .
Not open to students who have completed ECON 345 or ECON 346 .
