PHIL 106 - Philosophy & Contemporary Issues Semester Offered: Fall and Spring 1 unit(s) (Same as STS 106 ) This rendition of the course examines a number of ethical issues that arise in contemporary medical practice and research by analyzing articles and decision scenarios. Topics include the physician-patient relationship, medical experimentation, genetics, reproductive technologies (including cloning and stem cells), termination of treatment, euthanasia, resource allocation, and health care reform in the US. Case studies for some of these topics include the COVID-19 pandemic. Gus Law.
