BIOL 288 - Epidemiology Semester Offered: Fall 1 unit(s) This course focuses on the fundamental concepts and methods of epidemiology. Introduction to the principles of the quantitative approaches to clinical and public health problems are presented. Study design and validity of epidemiologic research, measures of frequency and association, and methods of data analysis are discussed and applied in the laboratory. Critical interpretation of epidemiologic evidence and literature are emphasized throughout the course. Leroy Cooper.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 106 or permission of the instructor.
Two 75-minute periods; one 4-hour laboratory.
